Hike-tober

Hey Campers, Alumni, and friends of Camp Fire Georgia – it’s time to Hike!

Our Fall Fundraising campaign is in full swing and our next event is a fun one: a Hike/Walk-a-thon for the month of October. Make like a camper and get out in the woods! Or, take a leisurely stroll around your neighborhood and enjoy the fall weather! Or, head to a state park and hike a trail or two!

All you have to do is get friends and family to sponsor your wanderings. You even get to set up your own web page highlighting your activities and sponsors. They pledge a set amount per mile and sign up online, you head out and hike/walk (keeping track of your miles), and at the end of the month your sponsors donate according to the total distance that you covered between October 1 – 31, 2025.

Even better, a generous alum has pledged to match donations up to $5,000—so every dollar you give has DOUBLE the impact!

It’s easy to get started! First check out our fundraising page at cfgct.betterworld.org. Then, create your own participant page using this link: https://cfgct.betterworld.org/…/hike-thon/new-participant. After that – go take a hike!

*Note: if you prefer to track steps instead of miles, it’s an easy conversion: 2000 steps = 1 mile.

Specialized Funds

Camperships

We’ve set up a dedicated fundraising page for camper scholarships—also known as camperships—to help send kids to camp this summer! When families apply for financial assistance, your support makes it possible for their children to attend camp for free. These scholarships open the door for kids to experience the magic of Camp Toccoa.

Facilities

Camp Fire Georgia is working to raise $10,000 to support facility repairs. This funding will directly support our efforts to ensure our aging camp infrastructure is well-maintained and safe for our campers. We have several urgent facility needs, including repairs to key access roads, broken decking, residential cabins, and a retaining wall for the hillside trail. Camp Fire Georgia remains committed to keeping camper fees affordable for all families. However, like many organizations, we are facing rising costs, and we rely on donations to make these critical improvements a reality.

Amazon

During the year, Camp Fire Camp Toccoa staff, volunteers, and campers help compile an Amazon wish list with various much needed items, such as office supplies, tools, arts & crafts supplies, and health. Your in-kind donation from Amazon helps provide much needed items to the children and families we serve in our programs.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Give Lively

Start your own campaign through Give Lively!

Give Lively is an organization that helps non-profits raise money through a variety of methods, including peer-to-peer fundraising. This is something as simple as sending out links on your own social media pages to encourage your contacts to give to Camp Fire Georgia.

If you are looking for a way to help, but maybe you can’t commit to a monthly financial contribution, consider helping fundraise using your very own campaign page. Campaign pages help us reach new donors and are great for special events (i.e. birthdays and weddings). We will set up the page for you and give you resources. All you have to do is send the link out on social media and to your friends, family, and colleagues! Email Alysha at alysha.bold@campfirega.com to get started. This is a FREE and EASY way for you to contribute and help Camp Fire Georgia and Camp Toccoa.
