What to Expect
AIKD Weekend takes place every Spring and is for new and returning campers who want to experience overnight camp at Camp Fire Camp Toccoa for the first time or returning campers who want to reunite with friends and staff. Campers in K through 11th grade will have a chance to experience the magic of Camp Fire Camp Toccoa. Campers should expect to have a great time; full of fun and adventure. Experience sleeping in the cabins, eating in the dining hall, making new friends and trying new things. Your favorite camp activities – archery, canoeing, arts & crafts, hiking, sports and more! Fun evening programing will include a camp fire with s’mores, camp songs, games and enjoying friends, both new and old.
Lodging & Meals
Everyone will stay in our heated cabins on the main camp area. Campers will be grouped according to age and gender; cabin mate requests can be made during registration but are not guaranteed for AIKD weekend. Meals and snacks are provided throughout the weekend (lunch Saturday through breakfast Sunday). Please note on the registration form if your camper is a vegetarian. If your campers has other special dietary needs please contact Camp Fire Camp Toccoa at (706) 886-2457 as you may be asked to send additional form items from home.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Camp Fire Camp Toccoa is not offering transportation for AIKD 2019. Drop off and pick up will be at Camp Fire Camp Toccoa, we are located on Highhway Alternate 17, inside the Toccoa city limits. Our street address is 92 Camp Toccoa Drive Toccoa, GA 30577. The camp is one-half mile north of Stephens County Hospital and one-half milk south of the The Links at Lake Toccoa Golf Course.
Drop off: is between 11:30 am -12 pm on Saturday, March 23rd
Pick up: is between 11:00-11:30 am on Sunday, March 24th for those staying overnight. Pick Up is at 6:30 pm for those staying Saturday only.
Open house is on Sunday, March 24th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. You must pick up your camper by 11:30 am and are welcome to return to Camp Fire Camp Toccoa at 1:00 pm for Open House. Tours will not be given during check in or out.
In the event of sickness, fever or injuries that required medical attention the parent/guardian will be notified and asked to pick up the participant from the event.
Each camper is required to have a Basic Medical History. The form must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than no later than March 18th, 2019. Campers who attended Camp Fire Camp Toccoa during the summer of 2018 should contact Camp Fire Camp Toccoa at (706) 886-2457 to ensure their medical form is still on file.
All prescriptions medication must be received in its original container accompanied by the Medication Administration Record. Only the exact amount of medication required for the weekend will be accepted.
What to Pack
Make sure to pack weather-appropriate clothes: your camper may need a hat and gloves or they may need sunscreen, you never know in Georgia! A rain jacket is recommended as campers will be participating in outdoor activities. Campers need to bring a warm sleeping bag, pillow, sheets and any toiletries they will need. Shower shoes (flip flops) for the bathhouse, a flashlight and water bottle are also needed. Closed toe shoes and socks are required at all times. Campers are not to bring cell phones or any other electronic device as they will be collected and kept by the camper staff during the weekend. Camp Fire Camp Toccoa is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged or forgotten cell phones/electronics, etc. Camp Fire Camp Toccoa will not mail any items left at camp.
Please do not send your camper with snacks or any outside food/drinks.
Camp Fire Camp Toccoa operates a small Trading Post, where campers may purchase snacks, water bottles and other small trinkets. Campers may bring cash to purchase these items over the weekend. Camp Fire Camp Toccoa will not be opening camper accounts in the Trading Post (as we do in the summer) and will not be responsible for lost or stolen money.
Tours of Camp Fire Camp Toccoa are not available during check in/ check out. Our staff will be occupied welcoming campers and their families. For the safety of the campers; parents and other guests are not permitted to take a self-guided tours. If you would like to tour Camp Fire Camp Toccoa please visit during on of our open house dates.
